This section of the brain is linked to emotions, motivation and social interaction. Damage to this area is thought to be linked to aggression and fear conditioning.

The most important section is the Amygdala which is the located in the Medial temporal lobe and us linked to Hypothalamus, Hippocampus and the prefrontal cortex.

This area of the brain regulates fear responses such as the flight or fight response. this means that dysfunction in this area could lead to a person being unable to act in a socially acceptable manner.

M.R.I scans have shown that the frontal lobe controls self- control, planning and judgement.

The Orbitofrontal cortex
associated with poor impulse control, lack of interpersonal sensitivity and explosive aggressive outbursts

Associated with deficits in real life tasks demanding judgment, awareness of socially appropriate conduct and the capacity to assess future consequences
