Participants?
69 adoloscents aged 15-18 with depression. From USA, the treatments were stopped before the study. 10 withdrew, so final 59.

Method?
Longitudinal programme over a month, were assessed for depreesion (e.g. BDI). P's assigned to 1/3 groups: Only adolsecnts on course (1). Teens and parents on a separate course (2) Waiting list (3)

Procedure?
P's assessed by interviews before and after treatment (after 2 years). Group 3 offered treatment if they couldn't wait. Parent's taught to reinforce positive change in children. Kids given skills training inc. relaxation + negative thoughts.

Results?
Group 1 - 57% diagnosed w/ depression. Group 2 - 52% diagnosed w/ depression. Group 3 - 94% diagnosed w/ depression.

Conclusion?
Shows the efficacy of the course. Element of cognitive therapy but the behavioural component integral.
