what is the difference between an incremental and full backup?
an incremental backup only backs up changed files since previous backup, whereas a full backup, backs up everything on the system

what do we use archives for?
an archive removes the data that we want to keep but don't use very often anymore.

what are the pros of archives?
you have a permanent record or source of the data files that are no longer in use, reduces data which is stored on the network making it faster to backup, network storage space is expensive-archiving frees up space for other things

what are the cons of archives?
when files are backed up the original data remains on the system. Whereas with archiving once a copy is made, the files are removed from the system
