What is specification?
Specification is the devlopment of new species.Specification occurs when populations of the same species become so different that they can no longer breed together to produce fertile offspring.

What is natural selection?
Each population shows variation because they have a wide range of alleles. In each population, individuals with characteristics that make them better adapted to their environment have a better chance of survival so are more likely to breed.

How do physical barriers cause specification?
Two populations fo the same species -> physical barriers separate populations -> populations adapt to new environments -> development of new species.

Dodo - humans hunted it, destroyed they're habitat and released new animals. Dinosaurs - changes in habitat meant they couldn't survive.
