Mitosis is when a cell reproduces itself by splitting to form two identical offspring.

How does mitosis work?
The cell has pairs of chromosomes in it, the chromosomes then line up in the centre and cell fibres pull them apart. The two arms of each chromosome are separated to different sides of the cell. Membranes form around each set to form the nucleus.
