How does smoking increase blood pressure?
Carbon monoxide reduces the oxygen carrying capacity of the blood so heart rate increases to comepnsate. Nicotine increases heart rate.

How does diet increase the risk of heart disease?
Saturated fats can lead to the build up of cholestrol. High levels of salt can elevate blood pressure.

What are the consequences of having high blood pressure?
Heart failure, heart disease and stroke.

Heart attacks and dizziness.

How does carbon monoxide reduce the carrying capacity of red blood cells?
It combines with the haemoglobin preventing the oxygen transport.
