Plants are sensitive to light, gravity and moisture.

The response of a plant to light.

Why do shoots bend towards the light?
Unequal distribution of auxin causes unequal growth which results in bending of the shoot.

What effects does auxin have on root and shoot cells?
High levels of auxin make shoot cells grow more but inhibit growth of root cells.

Why do farmers and gardeners use plant hormones?
We can use plant growth hormones as weed killers and as rooting hormones on cuttings.
