What does obese mean?
Very overweight, with a BMI over 30.

A person is overweight if their body carries excess fat and their BMI is between 25 and 30.

What health problems are linked to being overweight/obese?
Arthritis, type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure and heart disease.

What must you do to lose weight?
Reduce energy intake and exercise more.

Why is it unhealthy to be too thin?
You can suffer from deficiency diseases and may find it difficult to walk due to lack of vitamins or minerals.

Why are people who do exercise usually healthier than those who do not?
Exercise helps reduce weight and maintain health.

Give three reasons to explain why a person may be malnourished.
They make take in too much energy. They may have too little food. Particular nutrients may be missing from their diet.
