How does the body react when there's too much glucose?
After a meal, your sugar levels are high, which makes your pancreas release a hormone called insulin. The insulin is carried around the body in the blood. The liver then converts the glucose into glycogen so sugar levels are reduced.

How does the body react when there's too little glucose?
When sugar levels fall below a certain point, the pancreas releases a hormone called glucagon. This is carried around the body which makes the liver convert the glycogen back into glucose which is then released into the blood, raising sugar levels.
