by converting excess glucose in the blood to glycogen in the liver

when may people with diabetes need too inject insulin?
before meals

why do people with diabetes test the amount of sugar in there blood?
if they have had food containing a lot of sugar then a bigger amount of insulin is required to reduce the blood sugar level. ( if the intend to exercise then a smaller dose is required)
