What does the cornea do?
Refracts (bends) light into the eye.

What does the iris do?
Controls how much light enters the pupil.

What does the lens do?
Refracts light, focusing it to the retina.

What does the retina do?
LIGHT SENSITIVE part that is covered in RODS AND CONES which DETECT LIGHT.

Rods...
Sensitive in dim light, can't sense colour.

Cones...
Sensitive to colours, not good in dim light.

What is red, green colour blindness due to?
A lack of CONE CELLS.

What is the optic nerve?
Carries impulses from receptors to brain.

How does the eye focus light?
By changing the shape of the lens (accommodation)

To look at distant objects...
Ciliary muscle relaxes.

To look a close objects...
Ciliary muscle contracts.
