Describe Athey's Theory?
Chris Athey has applied the theory of schema to the practical observation and analyse of children's learning

Envelopment- when children cover themselves or surroudings eg painting a picture and then paints themselves

Transporting- moving objects one place to another for example having a pram but using it as a wheel barrow

Schema are patterns of play that children exhibit when they are exploring the world

How has her work influenced childcare practise?
When they develop children's thinking using Atheys Theory so they can use schema spotting where they can analyse what schemas the children are showing. This allows children to create tasks which are related to this.
