How does the size of the majority affect majority influence and conformity?
Majority of 3 or more people are sufficient to cause conformity even when the correct answer is obvious.

How does unanimity of the majority affect how many conform?
Instructing 1 of the confederates to go against the majority and give the correct answer made confederates less likely to conform and go with the incorrect answer.

When the task was made more difficult, conformity rates increased.

Describe the methodology of Asch's research
A laboratory experiment.

Describe the procedure for the participants
A naive participant would be asked 'which of the 3 lines, A, B or C matches the stimulus line x?' The naive participant would answer the question after several stooges have given the wrong answer.

What did Asch find?
Individuals conformed in 1 out of 3 occasions. 32% conformity shown until one stooge disrupts the majority and gives the correct answer. Conformity then dropped to 5%. Majorities bigger than 3 make little difference to the conformity effect.
