How to work out Un in an arithmetic series?
Un = a + (n-1)d (a= first term n=number of terms d=common difference)
2 of 14
Sum in arithmetic series
Sn = n/2 (2a = (n-1)d) OR Sn = n/2(a +L) where n = number of terms a= first term d= common difference and l = last term

Un in geometric series?
Un = ar^n-1 where a= first term, r= common ratio and n= number of terms
4 of 14
Sum of a geometric series?
Sn = a(1-r^n)/1-r
5 of 14
Sum to infinity?
a/ 1-r when r

Cosine rule?
a^2 = b^2 + c^2 - 2bcCosA (you can use this to find a side if given two sides and an angle, or to find an angle if you're given all three sides)
7 of 14
Sine rule?
sinA/a = SinB/b OR b/SinB = a/SinA where capital letters are angles and lower case are side lengths
