The psychodynamic perspective
People are driven by their unconcious struggles amd issues that may refer back to early childhood. E.g a person with dementia may go back to child-like ways.

The biological perspective
Elderly individuals may not understand others personality characteristics. E.g if an idividual is tough-minded they may not understand that ohers can be tender-minded. hey may behavewithout having concern for others.

The humanist perspective
A care worker using using humanistic approaches would not think how to control behaviours they would build a deep understanding of feelings and needs.

The constructivist perspective
This is based on the thought processes of an individual. the individual may place their feelings onto their care worker. E.g the resident may think someone must have done something to make them feel this way. they may then decide to punish the carer.

The behaviourist perspective
Reinforcement can be used to understand and manage aggressive behaviour. Aggression may become sronger if it leads to a good outcome, if needs are met the behaviour may become mor aggessive.

The social learning perspective
Issues associated with the residents identity may become apparent such as gender, race class etc. These can have a big impact on how individuals understand themselves and the world. A resident may be socialised in believing in aggression.
