To Autumn CAME
C - Celebration of the season of autumn and how beautiful she is. AME - The writer is try to persuade us that autumn is the best time of year/life = calm.

'close blosom-friend of the maturing sun' -> personification autumn and the sun, autumn is friends with sun because the sun makes plants grow
'Thee sitting careless on the granary floor' -> autumn sitting = personification, careless - adjective unfinished work, not done will get round to it.

' Steady thy laden head across a brook' -> transition to winter/death, obsiticles/ danger in life
'and gathering swallows twitter in the skies' -> birds migrating, winter is coming, theme of departure, death of human/life, sad ending

Structure -> 3 stanzas of equal length = regular, lines are different length to show the irregularity of the season. First 4 lines of each stanza follow A,B,A,B = seasons then vary = unpredicatable
Similar to 'Death of a Naturalist' -> both start positive then go negative DOAN (war)more so, and both show a passing of time. Differences -> Autumn is more positive, DOAN no rhyme scheme growing up is chaotic, Autumn shows the cycle of the seasons.
