What is Anorexia Nervosa?
This is a severe mental illness and eating disorder where someone restricts how much food they put in their body and are extremely underweight.

No single cause. Experts argue it is a mixture of psychological, environmental and biological factors.

What are the signs/symptoms?
Losing weight, wearing baggy clothes, complaining of body fat when there isn't any, obsessive attitude towards exercising, saying they have already eaten, downy hair on skin, repeatedly weighing themselves and looking in the mirror, bad hair

What are the consequences of being Anorexic?
Emaciation (wasting away), osteoporosis (bones decalcify), gastric bleeding, reflux vomiting, brain atrophy, cardiovascular problems, kidney complaints and diabetes, bowel failure

How do we treat it?
Combination of psychological therapy and supervised weight gain
