What are the parts of an animal cell?
Cell Membrane, Cytoplasm and Nucleus
1 of 8
What parts do only plant cells have?
Cell Wall, Chloroplasts and Vacuole
2 of 8
What is the function of the cell membrane?
Surrounds the living part of the cell. Acts as a gatekeeper and controls what can enter and leave the cell. Is flexible, but if it breaks, the cell will die.
3 of 8
What is the function of the cytoplasm?
Jelly-like substance where all the chemical reactions of the cells happen.
4 of 8
What is the function of the nucleus?
Controls what the cell does.
5 of 8
What is the function of the cell wall?
Made of cellulose. Gives the cell its shape and supports it.
6 of 8
What is the function of the vacuole?
Contains cell sap, can be used as a store for chemicals.
