Lorenz wanted to find if goslings would imprint on him if it was the first care object they saw, there were 2 conditions, the exp group and control group (normal mother), behaviour was recorded.

-that imprinting only happened in the critical period (4-25 hours after hatching for goslings)

that with the wm, the monkeys showed symptoms of stress such as diarrhoea, the monkeys clung to the tm while reaching for food from wm. clearly preferred the contact comfort even tho they went to the wm for food.
