A personality type that consists of a mixture of traditional male and female traits, attitued and behaviours

A sace to measure a persons level of androgyny, consisting of 20 characterisitcs that would be commonly assosicate with being either male, 20 for female and 20 for neutral traits

Rate themselves on a scale of 1-7 according to how much that trait describes them

Masculinity, Femininity, Androgynous, Undifferentiated

Findings of the BSRI
34% Males and 27% Females were classed as androgynous

What did Flaherty & Dusek find
That androgynous individuals have a higher degree of self esteem, a better sense of emotional well-being and more adaptable behaviour

That masculinity in both males and females is a better predictor of psychological wellbeing than androgyny
