The Peloponnesian League. Represented reactionary forces in Greece.

Military strength, perioikoi (neighbours) or helots (serfs/slaves)

They were owners of land and slaves/helots.

2 kings, 5 ephors, a council of 28 elders, an assembly of age 30+ males.

To shout; whoever got the louder shouts wins.

The need to be strong against Helots, and the need to be a military state.

How were Spartan boys raised?
Raised to be strong. Unfit/imperfect baby boys were thrown off cliffs to their deaths.

A law-giver for Sparta.

What sort of government did Sparta support in her allies?
Oligarchy. They destroyed tyrannies.
