Lever Act
1917 - Banned the use of grain in drinks.

1921 - Imposed an annual ceiling on immigration from any European country, limiting it to 3% of the nationals from that country living in the USA in 1911.

1924 - Banned immigration from Japan and set an absolute ceiling of immigration at 150,000 per year.

Agricultural Marketing Act
1929 - established a nine-person Federal Farm Board with funds of $500 million to create farmers' marketing co-operatives called "stabilisation corporations".

Moratorium on foreign debts
1931 - The USA would postpone the collection of debts for 18 months if other countries would do the same.

1931 - Held the task of helping failing banks survive.

1932 - A series of Federal Home Loan banks was set up to help loan associations to provide mortgages.

Reconstruction Finance Corporation
1932 - Had authority to lend up to $2 billion to rescue banks, insurance companies, railroads and construction companies in distress.

1932 - Authorised the RFC to lend up to $1.5 billion to states to finance public works.
