What is used to show Concentration?
Square Brackets [ ]
1 of 6
Define Reaction Rate
Reaction Rate is the measure of the change in concentration of the disappearance of reactants or the change in concentration of the appearance of products per unit time.
2 of 6
TRUE or FALSE: Changes in the temperature or the introduction of a catalyst will affect the rate constant of a reaction
FALSE. The rate constant is not dependant on the presence of a catalyst. Catalysts, however, can effect the total rate of a reaction.
3 of 6
What happens to the rate when the temperature increases
increasing the temperature increases the rate of a reaction
4 of 6
What happens to the rate when you increase the concentration
Increasing the concentration of a reactant increases the rate of the reaction (usually)
5 of 6
Why does the rate increase when you increase the concentration
here are more collisions as there are more particles in closer proximity
