To investigate the effect of enchanced personal responsibility and choice in nursing home patients.

To investigate whether people are more likely to be afraid of or avoid animals that move quickly, and are very different in form to humans.

SELIGMAN - That we are biologically programmed into fearing certain animals as there is something inside us that makes us do this. For example, It only took 4 shocks to induce fear of spider however it took alot more for a flower.

MINEKA - That wild monkeys feared real model / toy snakes. Well lab reared monkeys showed a mild response. Bennet said no, they feared the snake like movements.
