What is the Mesolimbic Pathway?
Addiction releases dopamine in VTA and pleasure in NA. This is a response to harmful actions, so is maladaptive

What is Tolerance and Withdrawal?
Dopamine receptors become less sensitive to to effects of tolerating drug/addictive behaviour. There's decrease in D2 receptors and dopamine release, so will need to engage more to experience same sensation. if stopped= withdrawal symptoms

What is Maintaining Addiction?
Frontal used for memory and decision making. changes in frontal turns behaviour into addiction. and causes easy RELAPSE and SALIENCE. Dopamine makes them engage more even when they don't want to
