What is mitosis?
a type of cell division that results in two daughter cells each having the same number and kind of chromosomes as the parent nucleus, typical of ordinary tissue growth.

Mitosis.

1)Cells that are not dividing contain long strings of DNA. 2)Before the cell divides, it copies its DNA and form x-shaped chromosomes. 3)The chromosomes line up across centre of the cells and the arms of each chromosome are pulled to opposite ends.

4) A membrane forms in each half of the cell to form the nuclei. 5) The cytoplasm divides, making two new genetically identical cells.
