Active transport

?
What is active transport?
Active transport is the movement of substances across a partially membrane or against a concentration gradient. It is from a low concentration to a high concentration this is why it requires energy.
1 of 8
How does active transport differ from diffusion and osmosis?
Active transport differs from diffusion and osmosis as it requires energy, as it is from a low concentration gradient to a high gradient.
2 of 8
Why do cells that carry out a lot of active transport have lots of mitochondria?
Cells that carry out alot of active transport have alot of mitochondria because in the cell mitochondria produces energy for respiration which is required.
3 of 8
What happens if a cell makes lots of energy?
If a cell produces lots of energy that means plenty of active transport will take place.
4 of 8
What do soft drinks mainly contain?
Soft drinks mainly contain water, sugar and mineral ions.
5 of 8
When you exercise why do you sweat?
When you exercise you sweat to keep your body temperature at a stable level.
6 of 8
What does sweat contain?
Sweat contains mineral ions water.
7 of 8
How do you lose mineral ions?
The more you sweat the more mineral ions you lose.
