How do you prepare an insoluble salt?
By precipitation. Add a soluble salt of a cation (like ...nitrate) to a soluble salt of anion (like sodium...) Filter to collect the salt.

How do you prepare a soluble salt?
Place acid in a beaker and heat gently. Add base or carbonate or appropriate metal until in no longer dissolves. Filter the mixture to remove excess solid. Evaporate and leave to crystallise.
