What was the main factor for a better public health system for the poo?
When working class man got the right to vote - this meant that parties were going to change things to please the working class voters (i.e the public health system)

What were the main changes in hospitals from the 17th to the 19th century?
17th century -no doctors or trained nurses, unclean and had a lack of knowledge - 19th century - Germ theory , had trained doctors and nurses, cured not just cared and had higher standards

What experience and qualifications did doctors in the industrial revolution need?
Had to part of a society and the general medical council/ they could apply to work supervised and follow doctors around a hospital

What did Florence nightingale do?
She went to the crimea war hospital and made nurses more professional / changes hospital santitation (better drain and clean water) - saw the link between dirt and disease (death rate fell form 42% to 2%)

What did Elizabeth Garret anderson do?
She was the first female doctor - she had to join a society , but none would take her in so she took them to court and was able to join it- she then finished her studies in france

Why was this important?
This started a path way for other women who wanted to be doctors, as once one women was able to more would follow
