What was the causes of illness in the 18th century?
Maima - disease caused by bad air that was filled with poisonous fumes, spontaneous generation - disease is caused by germs from rotting matter

Smoking a cigar, burn the clothes of the diseased, burn barrels of tar and pray

What experiment did Edward Jenner do to show that having cow pox stoped Small pox?
Jenner gave an 8 year old boy called James Cow pox and a few months later, Jenner gave James small pox . James didn't develop Small pox

Why was the cow pox vaccination accepted?
Mainly due to the Royal family accepting the vaccination (1852 - the vaccination was compulsory), it was opposed as Jenner couldn't explain why it worked and it only worked with small pox

What experiment did Pasteur do to show germ theory (germs in the air cause liquids to go bad)?
Pasteur put boiled water into 2 flask, one was open to the air the other one was air locked- the flask which was open to the air went bad, the other flask didn't

How did Robert Koch develop on Pasteur's Germ theory?
Koch found the connection between Germ theory and human disease- the german government gave him a lab where he found 21 different disease,like cholera and TB

How was the vaccination for Cholera found?
Pasteur accidentally left Cholera germs out, he then gave the weakened germ to chickens who didn't die
