tendency for people to buy things and then throw them away before necessary.

Reasons LICS produce less waste:
limited consumer purchases due to low incomes; little packaging used on products; recycling for personal use to save money as new people cannot afford to buy new products; small numbers of people are able to read so fewer newspapers are produced.

Electronic Goods
these include mobile phones, which are disposed of quickly.

White Goods
these are domestic appliances, such as fridges or washing machines.

Packaging
including plastic bags and plastic containers.

Leaving lights on; leaving chargers plugged in; leaving appliances on standby; not utilising methods to reduce energy loss.

using outdated machinery; using poorly serviced machinery; leaving machinery on when not in use; having poorly insulated buildings.
