Reasons LICS produce less waste:
limited consumer purchases due to low incomes; little packaging used on products; recycling for personal use to save money as new people cannot afford to buy new products; small numbers of people are able to read so fewer newspapers are produced.

these include mobile phones, which are disposed of quickly.

these are domestic appliances, such as fridges or washing machines.
