?
Define the purpose of the CPU.
The computer's central processing unit (CPU) is the portion of a computer that retrieves and executes instructions.
1 of 6
Clock Speed
The speed of the fetch decode execute cycle is decoded by the CPU clock speed.
2 of 6
Cache Size
CPUs work very quickly but only when supplied with data the cache supply’s this data. The cache provides basic instruction to the CPU to avoid lag.
3 of 6
Parallel Processing
Where is CPU with more that on core can fetch decode and execute different tasks
4 of 6
Cores
CPU with more cores will out perform CPU with less cores because they have less cores the will not be as powerful as CPUs with more cores. But if a computer has less memory or ram that will affect a computers performance.
5 of 6
Von Neumann architecture
The Von Neumann architecture consists of a single, shared memory for programs and data, a single bus for memory access, an arithmetic unit, and a program control unit.
