What are Format Checks?
Checks to ensure data is entered in the correct format, for example short dates (DD/MM/YYYY) or in long.

What are Range Checks?
Checks that ensure a number entered is within a specidified range of numbers.

What are Cross Feild Checks and an example of this?
These are checks over two feilds that rules out certain options because of something they have chosen, for example if someone enters there sex as male they cannot select there title as Miss or Mrs.

What are Hash Totals and an example?
a total of a non-calculable feild, such as an ID number.

What is a Control Total and an example?
Is a total where it makes sence to add the data, such as a bank balance.

Why can Drop Down Menus be classed as validation?
They specify a range of possible answers that they could enter for this feild, this stops any incorrect spellings in data entry and any erenous or incorrect data being entered into the feild.
