YALTA:
STATE OF WAR;
- conference was held in February
- Germany was now on the verge of defeat
- a second front was opened and the Soviets were ready to invade Germany
GERMANY;
- allies decided to de-arm, demilitarizeand de-nazify the country
- they decided to divide into 4 zones
- they assumed it would be temporary
EAST EUROPE;
- Stalin agreed the countries could have free elections and decided who governed them
POLAND;
- new frontiers were decided
- border between Poland and USSR was drawn at the curzon line
- Poles were compensated by territory from Germany
JAPAN;
- Stalin promised to enter the war but he demanded territory in return
