It's a good idea to give a little introduction to your answer. All it needs to do is say what your basic answer to the question is. It'll help you get started in the right direction.

The writer makes us feel sympathy for Mr Hobscuttle by describing his life as unhappy. The writer shows us that other people are to blame for Mr Hobscuttle's misfortune.
