WMM introduced by Baddely and Hitch. It explains the STM in detail and consists of 4 components: central executive, visuospatial sketchpad, episodic buffer and the phonological loop.
The central executive works as the boss as it controls the other components, yet it has limited capacity.
The visuospatial sketchpad holds visual information. It receives input from the eyes and manipulates it. Eg you would be using it if you were to see an apple and imagine it rotating.
