What life was like before the war?
womens roles were expected to be purely domestic.
if they did work they worked long hours and were limited to work such as washing/laundry or working in sweat shop
women were not allowed to keep any money they earned and any property became their husbands.
they had no rights to their children
there was no law that prtoecteed them from abuse in their relationship(****, physical abuse)
