  • When Arthur was a younger man he didn't believe in ghosts and whenever he had heard a story with them in he thought of them as nothing more than stories.
  • He was abit of a snob, he had the londoners sense of superiorty.
  • Kipps before his experience at Eel Marsh House- arrogant, logical, calm and confident.
  • While Kipps is at Eel Marsh House he becomes more insane, fearful and isolated, he is being haunted by the woman
