WJEC Geography Depressions and Anticyclines

?

A large amount of information is continually recorded at weather stations around the world.  Data collected includes precipitation, tempereture, wind speed and direction, sunshine and atmospheric (air) pressure.

Air pressure is used to build up synoptic charts (weather maps)that show the positions and nature of low and high pressure areas.  The center of low pressure are called depressions and the center of high pressure are called anticyclones.

How do anticyclones affect peoples activities and quality of life?

The clear skies of an anticyclone will encourage air temperetures
