Culture means the values, norms, meanings and customs of any given society. *Sociologists are interested in culture because it separates humans from wild creatures; therefore it is said that it is culture that makes us human.
Human beings need to learn how to behave within the society they are born into, babies do not know how to talk, walk, how to eat etc, these skills are acquired via socialisation. However, the precise nature of the skills learned can vary from one society to another. For example, in China it is customary to eat with chopsticks, whereas in Britain it is customary to eat with a knife and fork.
