The Sioux won the battle of little bighorn for several reasons. One was because there forces were much larger than Custer had expected ( 3,000 in total) because the Sioux had been joined by the Cheyenne and the Arapaho. Another being they were fighting with desperation and determination, they were ready for a battle . The Indians had better weapons than expected ( Winchester repeating rifles) . Custer was arrogant and charged through the mountains arriving a day early…
