1. Theory = "Traditional Marxists argue that crimes committed by person's of high social status and respectability in course of their occupations, often goes unreported and unrecorded. According to Sutherland, a typical white collar crime, such as tax evasion, is committed by a doctor or a lawyer.
2. Reasons for the unreporting/unrecording of WCC can be seen as a problem with companies who try to deal with it themselves, as they are simply embarrased of the crime. Stealing from work, is a crime which people actually see as a perk of the job, but those that own the companies are the ruling class, so do not record the crimes in order to ensure that the laws reflect their interests . WCC is also difficult to detect as resources are often foucsed on working class crimes - as Gordon said in terms of law enforcement, the police are more likely to patrol areas of high streetcrime levels such as Mosside, rather than Hale.
