  • rejected idea of trying to prevent war by pressuring Czech's to concede to AH
  • objections to pressuring the Czechs to conceding --> assumed that it was possible to have meaningful negotiations w/ AH and dismissed concerns about AH, implied that UK thought LON irrelevant, ruled out collecitve security + morally wrong to hand over independance/freedom of part of another country's territory
