On a good day at the New York stock exhange 2/3 million shares were sold. 

However, on Thursday the 24th of OCtober 1929 share prices fell faster than any other day.1.3 million shares were sold, this was panic selling, and the day became known as BLACK THURSDAY.

At 9am when the stock exchange opened, the shares of strong companies fell dozens
