Types- B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, B7, B9 and B12

Sources- White flour, meat, fish, eggs, dairy, leafy green vegetables, beans and peas

 

B1

Name- Thiamine

Function- DNA production, nerve function, generates energy from carbohydrates

Deficiency- Beriberi

Symptoms- Weight loss, emotional disturbances, weakness and pain in the limbs

 

B2

Name- Riboflavin

Function- Catabolism of fatty acids

Deficiency-Ariboflavinosis

Symptoms- Sensitivity to sunlight, pseudo-syphilis, pharyngitis

 

B3

Name-Niacin

Function- Metabolism of glucose, alcohol and fat

Side effects- Vomiting,
