Scenario - Teacher asks her new class to establish some ground rules within the classroom. One boy, Jamie, is the most vocal when creating these rules and contributes six appropriate rules which encourage good behaviour in the classroom. However, throughout the next lesson, the teacher notices that Jamie breaks all of his own rules.

So what does this prove? This scenario indicates that a knowledge of what defines good behaviour does not guarantee that good behaviour will be carried out. Jamie's behaviour could be due to his on habits rather than a response to a strict code of behaviour. He knows how to behave well, but that doesn't mean that he chooses to follow…
