Types of validity:

Validity -  Refers to the legitimacy of a study, the extent to which a study or measure is really testing what it claims to be testing. Does it measure what it claims to measure?

Internal validity -  Is the test really measuring what it is intending to measure? Was the observed effect really a product of the experimental manipulation.

External validity -  The extent to which the result can be applied to other people and other situations.

Concurrent validity - This can be established by comparing the current test with a previously established test on the same topic. Participants take both tests and then you compare their scores on the two tests.
