Active Immunity:
When the immune system makes its own antibodies after being stimulated by the correct antigen.
Natural - Where the body fights the disease. Artificial - The vaccine is full of antigens.
Passive Immunity:
When you are given antibodies made by a different organism, not produced by your own immune system.
Natural - Antigens from breast milk. Artificial - The vaccine is full of antibodies.
Active immunity - long term because memory cells are produced whereas in passive immunity is not.
