glasgow is one of the capital cities in  Scotland and is being developed.

Glasgow has a population of over 580,000 people. Decline in traditional industries eg shipbuilding has led to changes in Glasgow, socially, economicaly and environmentaly.

1) in some areas there is poor quality, high-rise housing that was buit in the 1960's and needs replacing.

2) More jobs are needed as there is high unemployment in Glasgow. in 2008, 7.1% of working age people were unemployed.Compared to 4.9% for the whole of Scotland.
