Unfair Terms in Consumer Contract Regulations 1999 (the regs)

'unfair terms' in contracts between a 'consumer' and a 'seller or supplier' are not binding on the consumer – does not just deal with exemption clauses like UCTA the regs deal with any type of unfair term

the regs compliments UCTA and applies to any type of unfair term in a consumer contract not individually negotiated – just given to you e.g. standard form contracts

does not apply to core terms such as price, data allowance etc. as these are individually negotiated by yourself
